Be Your Band

You bring the song. I become your band.

Every song starts somewhere different

Sedges sent me a voice memo of just her voice, recorded on her phone. I found the tempo, lined it up, and built the whole song around it.

Woody Malone came in with an acoustic guitar and a vocal. I played lead guitar and produced it. That's “30,000 Feet”, his latest release.

Ophidian Breeze came in with their songs laid out and a lot of great riffs. My job was making each song flow as one piece: layered guitars, cinematic textures, and drum fills that pull you into the next part.

Ender brought a song his old band recorded about 25 years ago, fast and metalcore. He'd always heard it more like Chevelle. We rebuilt it that way.

Whatever you bring in, I build the rest around it.

What you get

A full band and a producer for your songs.

One producer who plays every part you don't have. Your songs, built as a full band.

Which member are you missing? Drummer, bassist, guitarist, backing vocalist? I've got you covered.

You've made a ton of difference in the music I have recorded at your place that I couldn't have done on my own.

Pricing

Every song comes out finished: arranged, played, recorded, edited, mixed, and mastered. Every price includes a set budget of studio time. If tracking runs long, you'll hear it from me while we're still tracking, and nothing extra is billed without your approval. We pick the right size together on the call, based on your song.

RECREATE

$2,500 per song

up to 25 hours

Your song is already fully arranged, like a demo you want recreated with real instruments. If we start writing new parts, it moves up to Standard.

FULL ARRANGEMENT

$4,500 per song

up to 45 hours

For dense, layered songs with a lot of parts.

For comparison: $3,000 to $6,000+ a song to hire each player separately. And that's before you try to get them all speaking the same language.

Not ready to commit? Start with an Exploratory Session: $350 for 4 hours, applied in full to your project if you continue.

Who owns what

The recording is yours. 100%. Release it wherever you want. You never need my permission to put it out.

If you bring a finished song and I'm playing it, I don't take a writer's share.

If you bring the lyrics and melody and I write the music, my share is 25% by default, more only if I wrote most of the song.

You earn back first. I don't keep a cent of my share until the song has earned back what you paid me. Streaming, sales, songwriting royalties and sync from that song all count toward it. Your merch and shows never do.

I don't take a writer's share of anything an AI generated. Anything we write together, and lyrics you wrote yourself, are handled the normal way. For where U.S. copyright law stands on AI-made music, see the U.S. Copyright Office's AI page.

Every bit of this goes in writing before we start a single note.
